Electrical Technicians, Emergency Vehicle Experience

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is a full-service company devoted to the Emergency, Tactical, and Rescue industries. It was incorporated twenty years ago and is no newcomer to our industry. The company operates a collision and remount facility in Seminole County and is a new ambulance dealer in the State of Florida for several of the leading companies in that field. In addition to new vehicles sales they provide collision, custom command conversions, graphics, parts, reconditioning/remounting, service, and warranty repairs. Their facility offers 27,500 square feet of space, with departments for sheet metal fabrication, collision/paint, cabinetry, vacuum upholstery, up fitting, graphic design and installation. The organization is self-contained assures the customer of a job completed without any sub-contractors. Additionally, they have four service trucks for on-site repairs and warranty work. The company’s reconditioning/remounting program is the largest and oldest (continuing operation) in the State of Florida. It performed the first remount for Orlando Fire Rescue in February of 2002, and since then they have provided over 500+ remounts to date. Additionally, the firm is the largest major ambulance collision center in Florida.

A need currently exists for Electrical Technicians for the Seminole County facility. Ideal candidates would have the following qualifications and experience:

Summary

The electrical technician is responsible for installing and wiring electrical components on ambulances and other emergency vehicles.

Duties and Responsibilities

 Installation of emergency vehicle electrical and electronic systems and circuits

 Installation of emergency vehicle components.

 Recondition and replace parts.

 Troubleshoot operation problems and determine plan of action to remedy problems.

 Complete all necessary paperwork, as required.

 Other tasks assigned by shop manager.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

 Ability to work under limited supervision

 Must be dependable

 Excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written.

 Must assume responsibility for high quality of workmanship.

 Must have the ability to work independently.

 Should have excellent verbal communication skills.

 Must be able to speak proficient English (Spanish a plus)

 Must have the ability to work under pressure

 Must have a clean driving record.

Education and Experience

 A high school diploma or equivalent is required

 EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) and ASE Heavy Truck Certifications are preferred

 3-5 years in the automotive or truck repair business preferred.

 Knowledge of repair principles, tools, and procedures in all areas of the Heavy Truck Repair Industry preferred.

These are contract to direct hire positions.
